The UNV office in Ethiopia specifically seeks to enhance its digital presence and expand the Online Volunteering service.
Job Purpose
The UNV office in Ethiopia is recruiting enthusiastic and creative Online Volunteers to bolster its digital outreach and communication efforts. This role is crucial for increasing the visibility of the communication team's work and promoting the uptake of the Online Volunteering service within the country. By leveraging a broader network of volunteers, the initiative aims to significantly raise public awareness, foster stronger community engagement, and ultimately expand the overall reach and impact of the UNV programme across Ethiopia.
Responsibilities
Online Volunteers will support the UNV office in Ethiopia with digital outreach activities. Key duties include promoting corporate and local content across various social media platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube). Volunteers will also create engaging content such as posts, articles, graphics, and short videos tailored for diverse local audiences to raise awareness of relevant messages and stories. Community engagement with local organizations and groups is essential to build partnerships and extend campaign reach. Additionally, volunteers will assist in organizing and participating in online events like webinars and digital storytelling sessions, and monitor/report on engagement metrics and feedback from these activities. Training, guidelines, and visual assets will be provided.
Work Experience
Required: Strong communication and writing skills, creativity, and a solid understanding of social media platforms. Applicants must have active accounts on at least three specified social media platforms. Desired: Experience in content creation, graphic design, video editing, or project management is advantageous. Fluency in English is required; knowledge of a local Ethiopian language is a strong asset.
