Job Purpose
This role supports the UN Youth Townhall, a key initiative bringing together youth and decision-makers to foster dialogue, identify priorities, and co-create solutions. The assignment focuses on strengthening youth participation across UN pillars: sustainable development, peace, security, and human rights, including cross-cutting issues like education, technology, mental health, and economic opportunities. The goal is to ensure diverse youth voices, especially from underrepresented groups, inform the Townhall's outcomes by providing funding and addressing participation barriers.
Responsibilities
The UN Youth Office seeks Online Volunteers to review and screen a high volume of applications for the UN Youth Townhall. Responsibilities include evaluating applications against established criteria, verifying eligibility (age, completeness, language), and accurately recording screening results in a provided spreadsheet. Volunteers must maintain confidentiality and impartiality throughout the process. This role supports the initial screening to provide a reduced list for further evaluation by the UN Youth Office, without direct involvement in final selection or ranking.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of professional experience in human resources, recruitment, or a related field is required. Experience in application review, eligibility screening, recruitment processes, or administrative assessments is essential. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information professionally and excellent organizational and time-management skills are necessary. Experience with large-scale selection processes is preferred.
