Organizational Context
The Jadir Taekwondo Association (AJTKD), founded in Rio de Janeiro in 2000, is a public interest civil society organization dedicated to social impact. It implements sports, cultural, social, and environmental projects, having served over 7,000 vulnerable children and youth. AJTKD's mission is to provide free access to sports, cultural, and social activities for at-risk youth, promoting peace, human rights, citizenship, drug prevention, environmental education, health, gender equality, and reducing violence against women.
Job Purpose
AJTKD seeks Online Volunteers to support its international team by identifying funding sources for its mission and projects. This role is crucial for securing resources to sustain and expand the organization's impactful work with vulnerable youth. Volunteers will contribute to social impact and sustainability by leveraging strong research skills and teamwork within a multicultural setting. The assignment involves record entry and information input, directly supporting the organization's fundraising efforts and strategic initiatives. Successful candidates will be instrumental in mapping potential support avenues.
Responsibilities
The role involves supporting the fundraising team by researching potential donor organizations and identifying open funding opportunities. Volunteers will collaborate closely with the team to map sources of support for ongoing projects and strategic initiatives. Key tasks include conducting detailed research on funding opportunities and donor organizations, and presenting innovative ideas and relevant findings to the team. Optionally, volunteers with demonstrated prior experience in grant writing may assist with grant writing and reviewing draft proposals. The assignment requires creativity, initiative, and the ability to work effectively in teams.
Work Experience
Experience in donor research, fundraising strategy, or nonprofit business analysis is desirable. Creativity, initiative, and teamwork skills are valued. Prior experience in grant writing is not required but strongly preferred for those interested in proposal writing tasks. International or cross-cultural experience is considered a bonus.
Skills
Strong research skills, creativity, initiative, teamwork, and the ability to work in a multicultural environment are essential. Proficiency in English (fluent) is required. Experience in donor research, fundraising strategy, or nonprofit business analysis is desirable. Grant writing skills are a plus for specific tasks.
