Job Purpose
The Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting Expert will establish and implement an integrated M&E and reporting system aligned with UNDP's Results-Based Management standards and donor requirements. This role involves strengthening results and indicator frameworks, coordinating data collection and verification, ensuring data quality, supporting evaluations, and producing timely analytical and donor reports. The expert will also build the capacity of M&E focal points and implementing partners, ensuring M&E findings inform management decisions, adaptive programming, and resource mobilization, while applying conflict-sensitive, gender- and age-responsive approaches.
Responsibilities
The UN Volunteer will support monitoring, evaluation, and reporting for UNDP Sudan's resilience and recovery portfolio. Key duties include setting up and maintaining monitoring plans and indicator tracking tools, collecting and consolidating progress data from various sources, and ensuring data accuracy and consistency. The role involves conducting field monitoring visits to verify reported activities and results, maintaining a reporting calendar, and drafting progress and donor reports. Additionally, the expert will support surveys and evaluations, collect case studies and success stories, record lessons learned, and train staff on data collection and reporting tools. Emphasis will be placed on disaggregating data by sex, age, and location, and ensuring monitoring is conflict-sensitive and gender-responsive.
Work Experience
A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in monitoring, evaluation, and reporting for development or humanitarian programs at the national or international level is required (or 5 years with a Bachelor's degree). Demonstrated experience in designing and managing M&E systems, including indicator frameworks and data quality checks, is essential. Proven experience in producing programme progress and donor reports, coordinating data collection with partners, conducting field verification, and ensuring data quality and consistency is also necessary.
