Job Purpose
This online assignment aims to support WHO EMRO's public health intelligence efforts by systematically screening and documenting public health signals from the EIOS EMRO Board. The volunteer will contribute to the early detection and assessment of potential public health events by preparing concise summaries of relevant information and recording them in a designated tracking tool. This role is crucial for informing daily triage discussions, ensuring timely identification and response to public health concerns, and ultimately supporting WHO's mission to protect health and promote well-being in line with SDG 3.
Responsibilities
The volunteer will be responsible for daily review of the EIOS EMRO Board to identify potentially relevant public health signals. This includes preparing concise summaries of identified signals and accurately recording them in the designated tracking tool. The volunteer will also attend daily virtual triage meetings, documenting all decisions and follow-up actions. Urgent signals will be escalated through agreed communication channels. Maintaining accurate and timely records throughout the assignment is essential. The primary deliverable is a complete and quality-checked log of screened signals, summaries, triage decisions, and follow-up actions, submitted electronically at the end of the assignment.
Work Experience
While not strictly required, experience with information monitoring, event-based surveillance, or the EIOS platform is desirable. The role requires strong attention to detail, efficient information review capabilities, and the ability to work independently and meet daily deadlines.
