In Burundi, UNFPA is implementing its 9th Cooperation Programme (2024-2027), focusing on improving reproductive health services, addressing gender discrimination, empowering youth, and enhancing data utilization to achieve transformative results. To support its "Professional Knowledge Springboard" internship program for young people, UNFPA Burundi seeks to recruit an online volunteer mentor.

Job Purpose

This role aims to provide comprehensive professional development support to interns within UNFPA Burundi's Partnership and Resource Mobilization unit. The mentor will guide interns in understanding UNFPA's work, particularly in resource mobilization, and assist them in developing key professional skills. This includes supporting strategic foresight on funding opportunities, contributing to project proposals and concept notes, and preparing marketing materials for partners. The objective is to enhance the interns' career planning and immersion into the UN system, ensuring they gain valuable experience and contribute effectively to UNFPA's mission and the achievement of its transformative results.

Responsibilities

The mentor will guide interns in familiarizing themselves with UNFPA Burundi's operations, with a specific focus on Partnership and Resource Mobilization. Key duties include: - Supporting strategic monitoring of calls for proposals and donor priorities. - Contributing to the drafting of concept notes and project proposals. - Assisting in the development of social marketing materials (project sheets, pitch decks) for partners. - Helping to update the donor database and monitor funding cycles. - Supporting the organization of advocacy events and meetings with development partners. - Participating in the drafting of progress reports for donors. - Collaborating with the communications team to highlight the impact of received funding and ensure donor visibility.

Work Experience
