Job Purpose

This role serves as a mentor for UNFPA Burundi's "Professional Knowledge Springboard" internship program, designed for young individuals. The purpose is to provide comprehensive career development support, including immersion into the UN system and the UNV program. The mentor will guide interns in leveraging UNV opportunities, specifically focusing on visual communication and infographic design. This mentorship aims to equip interns with practical skills and professional guidance, ensuring they gain maximum benefit from their internship experience and contribute effectively to UNFPA's communication objectives.

Responsibilities

The mentor will guide interns in familiarizing themselves with UNFPA Burundi's work, particularly in visual communication and infographic design. Key duties include: - Designing professional report layouts adhering to UNFPA's graphic charter. - Creating data visualizations, transforming complex data into clear infographics and impact graphics. - Developing social media content, including factsheets and visual carousels summarizing key figures. - Designing visual donor packages for accountability and resource mobilization. - Producing multimedia advocacy materials such as digital banners, newsletters, and infographics. - Layout design for a capitalization booklet documenting best practices and lessons learned from the 9th program. - Creating a timeline visualizing historical milestones and systemic changes. - Developing new presentation templates and document formats for future cycles. - Supporting the development and production of visual materials for advocacy and awareness activities.

Work Experience

Candidates should have experience in graphic design, data visualization, and creating various visual content for reports, social media, and advocacy.
