Information Management Officer (ActivityInfo)
Organizational Context
UNICEF Ukraine is implementing its 2025-2029 Country Programme, responding to humanitarian needs and supporting recovery. The organization requires robust monitoring information for effective programme management and decision-making. To enhance data collection and utilization, UNICEF Ukraine is developing an integrated Monitoring System and data ecosystem, with ActivityInfo serving as a central repository for partner reporting and related data, complemented by standardized Excel tools for data preparation.
Job Purpose
This National UNV assignment focuses on the hands-on implementation and operationalization of UNICEF Ukraine's core Monitoring System over 12 months. The Information Management Officer (ActivityInfo) will be instrumental in migrating and structuring priority data, stabilizing ActivityInfo and Excel reporting workflows, and setting up the essential Power BI dashboard and data connections. A key aspect of the role involves documenting processes for ongoing maintenance and ensuring knowledge transfer to UNICEF staff, enabling the system's long-term sustainability and effective use for programme management and evidence-based decision-making.
Responsibilities
The Information Management Officer (ActivityInfo) will focus on implementing, stabilizing, and handing over the Monitoring System. Key responsibilities include: ActivityInfo Implementation and Data Migration: Migrating and importing historical and current partner data into ActivityInfo, mapping fields, transforming, validating, and reconciling records. Configuring and optimizing forms, reference tables, validation rules, and data quality checks for routine use. Excel Reporting and Data-Processing Tools: Stabilizing and optimizing standardized Excel templates for data preparation and ActivityInfo import, including Power Query/M, validation rules, and automated checks. Ensuring alignment with ActivityInfo structures and documenting update processes. Data Integration and Power BI: Establishing and optimizing dataflows, connections, semantic models, relationships, DAX calculations, and refresh processes linking ActivityInfo with other UNICEF data sources. Supporting the development and operationalization of the core Monitoring System Power BI dashboard and analytical views. Documentation and Handover: Preparing and maintaining technical documentation, data dictionaries, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides. Transferring knowledge to UNICEF staff and supporting user adoption.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in information management, data management, business intelligence, reporting systems, or database support. Demonstrated experience in implementing or improving operational data management or business intelligence systems is essential. Experience with data migration, transformation, cleaning, and validation of large datasets is required. Proficiency in ActivityInfo (highly desirable), advanced Microsoft Excel (including Power Query), and Power BI is necessary. Experience with data integration, APIs, relational databases, SQL, or Python/R is an asset.
