Job Purpose
This role supports IOM's Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) activities in Türkiye, funded by ECHO. The primary objective is to generate reliable, timely, and actionable data to inform evidence-based decision-making and improve program effectiveness. The Field Worker will conduct essential field-level data collection, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established methodologies and ethical standards. Reporting to IOM's Senior Project Associate and Field Coordinator, the UN Volunteer will play a crucial part in gathering critical information in earthquake-affected areas, contributing directly to IOM's humanitarian response and understanding of population movements.
Responsibilities
The Field Worker will prepare and execute fieldwork plans in earthquake-affected provinces, conducting quantitative and qualitative interviews with host and migrant communities. Key duties include ensuring strict adherence to ethical standards such as confidentiality, informed consent, and data protection. The role requires maintaining regular communication with the IOM team, reporting daily progress, and promptly flagging any issues or challenges encountered. Interviews must be conducted respectfully, sensitively, and in a culturally appropriate manner. Accurate utilization of designated mobile data collection tools and platforms is essential, along with submitting daily updates on progress and field observations. The Field Worker will also perform other assigned duties by the supervisor.
Work Experience
No prior experience is required for this role. However, previous experience in field data collection, surveys, or assessments is desirable. Experience working with migrants, refugees, or displaced populations is a strong advantage. Familiarity with digital data collection tools like KoboToolbox or ODK is also beneficial.

The role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to interact respectfully with diverse populations.
