UNICEF, the United Nations Children's Fund, is dedicated to safeguarding the rights and well-being of children and adolescents globally. Guided by the Convention on the Rights of the Child, UNICEF provides technical and financial assistance to countries. This assignment is within UNICEF Argentina's Social Inclusion and Rights Monitoring unit.
Job Purpose
This role supports the operational management of UNICEF Argentina's 'Municipio Unido por la Niñez y la Adolescencia' (MUNA) initiative. MUNA assists local governments in designing, implementing, and monitoring policies for child and adolescent rights. The initiative, active in 250 municipalities across 12 provinces since 2021, involves intersectoral teams, training, and technical assistance. The UN Volunteer will contribute to the initiative's overall management, focusing on operational support for coordination with provinces and municipalities, information management, and assisting in the development of training and communication strategies for the 2025-2030 cooperation cycle, including the development of a digital platform.
Responsibilities
The UN Volunteer will support the Social Inclusion and Rights Monitoring team in managing the MUNA initiative. Key responsibilities include registering and updating information related to the initiative's management, maintaining communication with municipal teams to collect required documentation (Commitment Letters, self-diagnostics, action plans, reports), and following up with implementing partners on action plan deadlines. The role involves contributing to programmatic visits, channeling requests for the MUNA virtual platform, and supporting the review and organization of training materials. Additionally, the volunteer will generate simple communication pieces to disseminate initiative activities, assist in organizing events, and prepare meeting minutes, follow-up notes, presentations, and operational reports.
Work Experience
Requires at least 3 years of relevant experience in managing, implementing, monitoring, or following up on social programs, public policies, or development initiatives, preferably with territorial components. Experience in operational project support, schedule tracking, information systematization, and preparing simple operational reports is essential. Proficiency in IT tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, collaborative platforms, simple databases) and strong Spanish communication skills are necessary. Experience with child/adolescent-focused programs, government actors, or international organizations is desirable.
