Job Purpose
This Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Trainee assignment is part of the "She Demines" program, designed to enhance women's involvement in humanitarian mine action in Ukraine. The program provides comprehensive training, professional development, and employment opportunities within this critical sector. Participants will receive financial support, accommodation, and meals during the training period. The objective is to equip female candidates with job-ready technical skills in humanitarian mine action, alongside building resilience, confidence, and leadership qualities necessary for safety-critical fieldwork. Graduates will be prepared to contribute to a skilled, inclusive, and nationally led mine action workforce, strengthening Ukraine's future.
Responsibilities
As an EOD Trainee within the "She Demines" program, participants will engage in a one-month Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Level 1 training course. This training, conducted by the Humanitarian Demining Training Centre, prepares individuals to safely identify, recognize, and respond to explosive ordnance according to national standards and safety procedures, combining theoretical instruction with practical field exercises. Trainees are expected to fully participate in all course modules, adhere strictly to safety regulations and operational procedures, and actively engage in practical exercises and assessments. Maintaining regular attendance, demonstrating responsibility, discipline, and teamwork, and contributing to a safe, inclusive learning environment are crucial. The training is delivered by experienced specialists with extensive military and humanitarian demining backgrounds.
Work Experience
No prior experience is required for this role. However, candidates should possess strong motivation for a career in humanitarian mine action, a capacity for rapid learning and practical application of new knowledge, especially in field conditions. Essential attributes include a high level of responsibility, discipline, attention to safety procedures, good communication and teamwork skills, willingness to work in physically demanding environments, good physical fitness, endurance, resilience, and adaptability. Basic digital literacy is expected.
