Job Purpose
This role supports UNDP Madagascar's initiative to analyze gender equality data. The volunteer will contribute to understanding gender dynamics within four key UNDP portfolios: Effective Institutions, Civic Pact, Energy Transition, and Green Horizon, with a focus on the Atsimo Andrefana, Anosy, and Androy regions. The assignment aims to inform the adjustment of the Gender Strategy and operational methods by providing a clear, data-driven overview of gender-related issues, ensuring that findings are accessible to all stakeholders and contribute to more participatory and inclusive interventions.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the UNDP Gender Analyst in Madagascar, the online volunteer will collect and review significant and up-to-date data and information concerning UNDP Madagascar's four portfolios. The volunteer will present this information in a clear and understandable manner for all stakeholders. Key tasks include identifying and gathering sources, collecting qualitative information and quantitative data, conducting research, and drafting an analysis report. The report should highlight gender relations, socio-political-economic vulnerability parameters, and important gender-related conclusions. The expected workload involves reviewing at least 10 documents per thematic area, resulting in an analysis report of less than 20 pages with a bibliography.
Work Experience
Candidates must possess strong research and analytical skills. Experience or knowledge in the field of gender is considered an asset. A strong sense of responsibility and proficiency in scientific and academic working methods are also required to ensure the quality of results.
