Job Purpose
This role supports UNDP Madagascar's efforts to enhance gender equality integration within its development initiatives. The volunteer will create engaging mini-videos to effectively communicate key strategies and practical tips for mainstreaming gender. The objective is to produce professional, captivating visual content, adhering to UNDP standards, for dissemination to partners and communities. This assignment involves translating complex concepts into accessible visual formats, contributing to more inclusive and sustainable development outcomes in Madagascar through enhanced gender awareness and application.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Gender Analyst and with support from the UNDP Madagascar communications team, the volunteer will edit short video clips explaining key gender integration tips. The role involves approximately 10-12 mini-videos throughout the assignment. Key tasks include: translating raw text into dynamic visual concepts (scripting and storyboarding), designing or adapting visuals sensitive to the Malagasy context and gender issues (graphic design, caricature), producing 30-90 second animated infographic videos in Malagasy, animating visuals, synchronizing with Malagasy sound elements, and adding French subtitles. The volunteer will also create formats optimized for various social media platforms (Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube) and organize/archive final productions for future use in communication, awareness, and training.
Work Experience
Candidates must possess strong skills in mini-video creation and editing, with in-depth knowledge of video editing software. Good oral and written communication skills are also required. Basic knowledge and professional experience in the field of gender, particularly within the Malagasy context, are desirable.
Skills
Proficiency in video editing software, graphic design, animation, scripting, and storyboarding. Ability to create visually engaging content sensitive to gender issues and local context. Strong communication skills (oral and written). Fluency in Malagasy and French is required.
