Job Purpose
This role supports the Guinea Model United Nations (GUIMUN) event, a simulation of UN activities designed to introduce youth to global diplomacy and governance. The objective is to enhance the role of young people in governance and sustainable development by equipping them with negotiation and diplomacy skills. Volunteers will help raise awareness and increase the visibility of the GUIMUN event among Guinean youth. This initiative aims to foster intercultural exchange and strengthen youth engagement for a common future, addressing critical global issues like peace, security, climate change, and human rights.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibility is to support the awareness and visibility campaign for the Guinea Model United Nations (GUIMUN) event, targeting Guinean youth. This involves collaborating with the organizing committee to define target audiences and their needs. Volunteers will develop and implement an outreach strategy, prepare and gather necessary awareness materials, and provide input on content and messaging for new documents. They will also advise on the implementation of the awareness plan. The GUIMUN event itself will host approximately 200 participants, including delegates, observers, and staff, and aims to engage students and young professionals interested in diplomacy and global issues.
Work Experience
Candidates should have prior experience in grassroots communication development and possess excellent communication and writing/editing skills. Experience in reaching target audiences is advantageous. A good understanding of online marketing, tools, and media channels is highly desirable. Access to the internet and an Android phone are required.
