Job Purpose
This role supports WFP Tajikistan's Country Strategic Plan (2027-2030), which emphasizes School Feeding, Nutrition, and Food Fortification. The primary objective is to strengthen donor relations, particularly with the Russian Federation, to ensure sustained support for the School Feeding Programme. The position is crucial for enhancing donor visibility by effectively communicating programme results and sharing success stories from the field. This will highlight the tangible impact of partnerships and reinforce collaboration between WFP, the Russian Federation, and the Government of Tajikistan, ultimately contributing to the program's expansion and success.
Responsibilities
The External Relations Officer will support strategic donor engagement and partnership development, focusing on the Russian Federation and other partners of the School Feeding Programme. Key duties include maintaining communication with donors, government counterparts, and development partners; organizing meetings, briefings, and field visits; and supporting donor visibility plans. The role involves contributing to resource mobilization through donor mapping and proposal preparation. Responsibilities also include preparing donor reports, briefs, and information products, and supporting advocacy and communications through success stories, case studies, and multimedia content. The officer will assist in planning communication campaigns, drafting correspondence, and documenting programme results and beneficiary stories to enhance WFP's external positioning and partnerships.
Work Experience
A minimum of 1 year of relevant professional experience is required, specifically in partnerships, communications, donor relations, external relations, or stakeholder engagement. Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is also necessary. Previous volunteer experience or experience in a different cultural context is considered highly advantageous.
Skills
Essential competencies include adaptability, flexibility, communication, knowledge sharing, planning, organizing, and technological awareness. Specific skills required are in partnerships, communications, donor relations, external relations, and stakeholder engagement. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is necessary.
