Job Purpose
The UN Volunteer will support the World Food Programme (WFP) in Bolivia by contributing to the strengthening of food and nutrition security, the resilience of vulnerable communities, and emergency preparedness and response. Through technical assistance, institutional capacity building, and program implementation focused on nutrition, disaster risk management, and sustainable livelihoods, the volunteer will help improve the living conditions of the most vulnerable populations. This role promotes sustainable solutions aligned with national priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals, directly contributing to WFP's mission in the country.
Responsibilities
The UN Volunteer will support logistical activities under the supervision of the Head of Supply Chain. Key duties include coordinating logistics with humanitarian partners, collecting and analyzing data on logistical capacities and operational needs, and providing basic technical support on logistics, transport, storage, and supply chain matters. The volunteer will organize coordination meetings, prepare agendas and minutes, and follow up on agreements. Responsibilities also involve monitoring logistical risks and access limitations, supporting emergency preparedness activities, and preparing regular reports on logistics operations. Additionally, the role includes assisting with inventory management, tracking purchase orders and service requests, coordinating humanitarian cargo transport, monitoring supplier deliveries, and ensuring compliance with internal procedures and standards.
Work Experience
Requires 3 years of progressive experience in logistics, supply chain, logistics support operations, procurement, transport, or related administrative functions. Experience with supply chain processes, internal control procedures, and knowledge of logistics processes including transport, inventory management, storage, distribution, and tracking of goods and services are essential. Experience coordinating with multiple actors and managing information is necessary. Experience with humanitarian cargo handling is desirable.
