Job Purpose
This assignment aims to strengthen UN Women Mexico's production of graphic materials for its digital platforms, social media, campaigns, and other communication initiatives. The role will ensure a consistent, innovative visual identity aligned with UN Women's institutional standards. The graphic designer will transform institutional information and messages into clear, accessible, and attractive visual pieces and resources. This contribution is vital for enhancing the visibility and impact of UN Women's work in promoting gender equality and women's rights in Mexico.
Responsibilities
Provide technical and creative support to the UN Women Mexico Communication team in conceptualizing, designing, and adapting graphic and visual materials for digital platforms, social media, and institutional channels. Transform institutional information and messages into visual pieces and resources suitable for various communication needs, adhering to UN Women's visual identity, accessibility, inclusive communication, and gender focus guidelines. Specific tasks include designing graphics for digital platforms and social media (cards, carousels, infographics, data visualizations, banners, covers, digital invitations), adapting designs for platforms like Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, and YouTube, and creating materials for campaigns, events, and institutional activities. The role also involves supporting the creation of recurring content templates, adjusting existing materials, and incorporating visual elements coherently with the institutional identity. Expected outcomes include producing a minimum of two graphic pieces weekly, delivering materials in required formats, ensuring visual consistency, and meeting agreed-upon deadlines.
Work Experience
Requires proven experience in graphic design and the creation of digital materials. Experience in graphic design for digital platforms, social media, or institutional communication is desirable. Familiarity with design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Canva, or Figma is expected. Experience in infographic design, data visualization, and accessible/inclusive design is a plus. Experience in communication for social organizations, public institutions, international bodies, or social impact projects is also beneficial.
Skills
Proficiency in at least one professional graphic design tool (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Canva, Figma). Strong skills in visual composition, typography, color theory, information hierarchy, and editorial design. Ability to transform information and data into clear, attractive graphic content. Knowledge of digital formats and visual specifications for social media and digital platforms. Capacity to adapt a consistent graphic line across different formats and dimensions. Basic photo editing and processing skills. Creativity, visual judgment, and attention to detail. Ability to work with established graphic identity guidelines, receive feedback, and make agile adjustments. Organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines. Fluency in Spanish (native) and working knowledge of English are required.
