Job Purpose
This online volunteer assignment supports OCHA Venezuela in creating graphic materials for social media to enhance the visibility of coordinated humanitarian action. The volunteer will collaborate with the Public Information Team to design weekly social media content, transforming complex information into clear visual messages. This role offers an opportunity to learn about graphic design's role in humanitarian response, contribute to accountability to affected populations through accessible communication, and develop professional skills in a dynamic international environment.
Responsibilities
The Online Volunteer will support OCHA Venezuela by creating graphic materials for social media platforms. Key tasks include analyzing OCHA Venezuela's graphic guidelines, collaborating with the Public Information Team to align designs with the weekly content calendar, and producing four graphic assets per week (carousels or single images). Designs must be delivered as editable Canva files. The volunteer will work closely with the team for feedback and revisions, ensuring institutional identity elements are respected. This role provides a chance to build relationships, understand how graphic design supports humanitarian efforts, and contribute to accessible, inclusive, and people-centered communication.
Work Experience
Demonstrable experience in graphic design, visual communication, or art direction is required. Candidates should be proficient in transforming extensive content into clear visual messages, establishing information hierarchies, and adapting graphic lines for digital formats. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Canva is essential, with the ability to prepare editable files.
