Organizational Context

Job Purpose
The Programme Associate will support WFP Ghana's efforts to strengthen national development through its four thematic pillars. This role involves contributing to project development, providing project management support for defined programs, and ensuring adherence to WFP standards. The Associate will gather and monitor data, research policy and operational issues, and assist in preparing accurate reports to inform decision-making. Key contributions include liaising with internal counterparts for collaboration, supporting the development and management of partnerships to enhance food assistance packages, and assisting in capacity-building initiatives for WFP staff, partners, and the government. The position aims to improve food security and nutrition outcomes by leveraging strategic partnerships and fostering demand for healthy diets.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the development of projects, plans, and processes, ensuring alignment with WFP policies. Provide project management support for small to moderate-sized programs and projects, ensuring compliance with WFP standards. Maintain rigorous quality standards in data gathering and monitoring systems. Research and analyze policy and operational issues to support senior colleagues in policy and program development. Prepare accurate and timely reports on programs and activities to facilitate informed decision-making. Liaise with internal counterparts to ensure effective collaboration and monitor ongoing projects. Support the identification, development, and management of potential partnerships to improve food assistance packages. Assist in capacity building for WFP staff, partners, and national government in food assistance preparedness and response. Provide guidance and support to junior staff, acting as a referral point for analysis and queries. Perform other assigned duties as required by supervisors.
Work Experience
Requires 1 month of experience. Desired experience includes 2 years in humanitarian program implementation, contributing to operations design, program development, policy discussions, and decision-making. Experience in data management, data analysis, and tracking is also required.
