Job Purpose
The Business Advisory Specialist will support the Mersin Chamber of Commerce and Industry in facilitating cross-border trade for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This involves providing targeted business advisory services, organizing capacity-building trainings, and fostering business-to-business networking opportunities. The role requires monitoring international trade regulations and market trends to offer SMEs up-to-date guidance. By identifying and promoting business opportunities, establishing stakeholder networks, and supporting partnerships, the incumbent will contribute to trade growth and economic cooperation, enhancing SMEs' capacity for international engagement.
Responsibilities
Provide business advisory services to SMEs interested in cross-border trade. Stay updated on local and international trade regulations and policy changes. Facilitate trade-related training sessions and business-to-business networking events for SMEs. Identify and promote cross-border trade opportunities. Manage and update business networking platforms and online tools. Conduct regular follow-ups with SMEs to monitor engagement and progress. Establish and maintain local and international networks to support trade development. Monitor, report on, and assess project objectives and progress against targets. Perform other assigned duties to support project goals.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of professional experience is required, including proven experience in project management, facilitating events and trainings, and working with governmental bodies. Experience in the private sector or labor market programs is also required. Previous experience with United Nations agencies is desirable.
Skills
Strong monitoring and reporting skills, high attention to detail, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse cultures and stakeholders, with awareness of different private sector contexts. Possesses strong organizational and time management skills, problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities, and adaptability in dynamic environments. Ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrated professionalism are essential.
