Organizational Context
The Learning Passport is UNICEF’s flagship digital learning platform, aiming to provide continuous access to quality education for children, youth, and teachers globally, especially in low-connectivity or offline settings. As the platform evolves, UNICEF is enhancing its product by translating country needs, user feedback, and operational realities into clear technical requirements to ensure its stability and user-centricity for broader implementation.
Job Purpose
This assignment supports the UNICEF Learning Passport by refining platform documentation. The volunteer will analyze existing page designs to identify and extract shared UI components and behaviors into standalone documentation. Additionally, the volunteer will simulate a new user's experience across all platform pages to document behavioral differences and propose new user behaviors. The ultimate goal is to contribute to a more stable, user-centered, and strengthened platform, enhancing its effectiveness for country-level implementation and improving learning outcomes worldwide.
Responsibilities
The Online Volunteer will support the Learning Passport by refining platform documentation. Key tasks include reviewing existing page designs to identify and extract shared UI components and behaviors into dedicated documentation. The volunteer will also simulate the experience of a new user across all Learning Passport pages, documenting any behavioral differences compared to existing users. Based on this analysis, the volunteer will draft proposed behaviors for new users and corresponding acceptance criteria. This work aims to improve the platform's stability, user-centricity, and overall effectiveness for global implementation.
Work Experience
Required experience includes strong writing and analytical skills, the ability to translate program needs into technical requirements, and experience drafting user stories, acceptance criteria, or product requirements. Familiarity with digital learning platforms, LMS, or ed-tech is beneficial. Experience with product management tools like Azure DevOps or Jira, user-centered design, and agile methodologies is preferred.
Skills
Key skills include strong writing and analytical abilities, clear communication, attention to detail, and the capacity to organize information effectively. The volunteer must be able to translate user feedback into technical requirements and document platform workflows accurately. Proficiency in English (fluent) is required. Familiarity with digital learning platforms and ed-tech is essential.
