Job Purpose
This role supports the UNV Humanitarian Emergency Response (HER) Roster for UNFPA Philippines, enabling rapid recruitment for emergency assignments. The Sexual and Reproductive Health in Emergencies (SRHiE) Analyst will be crucial in coordinating, implementing, monitoring, and reporting on SRH activities, including HIV and medical aspects of GBV, in disaster-affected areas. The position involves supporting the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP), facilitating partnerships, advising on health service integration, conducting needs assessments, coordinating stakeholders, building capacity of health providers, and monitoring interventions. The goal is to ensure timely delivery of essential SRH and GBV services to vulnerable populations during humanitarian crises, aligning with UNFPA's mandate and the Philippines' Country Programme.
Responsibilities
The SRHiE Analyst will serve as the Focal Point for SRH activities, including HIV and medical GBV aspects, within the UNFPA Humanitarian Response Team. Key duties include supporting the implementation and monitoring of the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP), advocating for SRH services, ensuring quality of care through capacity building, and managing the provision of emergency SRH supplies. The role involves identifying and facilitating operational partnerships, proposing medical supply needs, and coordinating their distribution. The analyst will advise on integrating comprehensive health services into primary healthcare as situations stabilize. Responsibilities also include providing leadership in SRH coordination and programming, liaising to improve service delivery and UNFPA visibility, conducting needs assessments, coordinating SRH stakeholders and working groups, and assisting in the reproduction of national guidelines and IEC materials. Furthermore, the analyst will facilitate capacity building for health service providers, collect and analyze SRH data, monitor and evaluate SRH interventions, report on commodity use, and assist in resource mobilization through proposal writing.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of relevant work experience is required for Master's degree holders, and five years for Bachelor's degree holders. Experience should be in humanitarian emergencies, public health emergencies, or conflict-affected settings. Specific experience in coordinating and implementing the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) for Sexual and Reproductive Health is essential. Experience in humanitarian response is advantageous. The candidate must possess excellent written and spoken English and Filipino, with knowledge of local dialects being a plus. Willingness to deploy to emergency-affected areas on short notice and work in challenging conditions is required.
