Job Purpose
This role supports the UNV Humanitarian Emergency Response (HER) Roster for UNFPA Philippines. The Information Management Analyst will enhance emergency response by providing critical data analysis for strategic decision-making, integrating gender considerations, and improving information exchange. The position aims to ensure effective and timely humanitarian assistance, particularly for SRH and GBV services, by improving data management systems and supporting the rapid deployment of technical expertise. The analyst will contribute to preparedness, response, and early recovery efforts in disaster-affected areas, ensuring life-saving interventions are coordinated and data-driven.
Responsibilities
The Information Management Analyst will support the UNFPA Humanitarian Response Team by processing and analyzing population data, needs assessments, and location information to inform strategic and operational decisions. Key duties include ensuring data quality through established standards, collecting and analyzing emergency-related data (including geo-referencing), and developing disaggregated information products. The analyst will manage and archive data, define user needs for information management systems, and identify core information products. Responsibilities also involve building partnerships for sectoral surveys, strengthening national/local capacity in information management, creating maps for decision-makers, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. The role includes developing regular reports and serving as a focal point for UN interagency reporting networks.
Work Experience
A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in information management and data monitoring, including database design and maintenance, is required. Five or more years of relevant experience is preferred. Experience in humanitarian response and data management, along with strong knowledge of humanitarian reporting standards, cartographic presentation, and GIS analysis, is essential. Experience with performance indicators and project monitoring/evaluation is an asset.
