They aim to improve regional eco-environments and encourage public participation in environmental protection efforts.

Job Purpose

This role seeks 10 Online Volunteers to support preparations for the UNCCD COP17 conference. Volunteers will contribute to event promotion and material preparation for side events and exhibitions focused on grassland restoration, land degradation neutrality, climate adaptation, renewable energy, and community-based sustainable pastoral development. The assignment involves research, translation, documentation, design, and communication tasks, all conducted remotely. The goal is to assist Green Camel Bell in effectively preparing for and promoting key environmental initiatives at the COP17 conference.

Responsibilities

Online Volunteers will support Green Camel Bell's preparations for UNCCD COP17. Key responsibilities include conducting research on topics such as grassland restoration, land degradation neutrality, climate adaptation, renewable energy, and community-based natural resource management. Volunteers will also translate materials between English and Chinese, organize, proofread, and edit meeting notes and event records, and design flyers and visual materials for side events and exhibitions. Additionally, they will support communication and outreach activities by preparing and distributing event updates, social media content, and newsletters to amplify COP17 messages. Collaboration with team members and participation in virtual meetings will be required.

Work Experience

While not strictly required, candidates with familiarity in areas like desertification, land degradation neutrality (LDN), climate adaptation, sustainable pastoralism, or community-based natural resource management are preferred. Previous experience with international conferences, UN processes, environmental NGOs, or civil society engagement is advantageous but not mandatory. Strong research and writing skills are essential.

Skills

Essential skills include strong research and writing abilities, particularly in environmental sustainability, land degradation, grassland management, climate change, or sustainable development. Fluency in English and Chinese is required for translation. The ability to work effectively in a remote, international team and a commitment to environmental sustainability and community-based approaches are also important.
