Organizational Context

The UNDP Global Programme on Nature for Development integrates three initiatives (Equator, National Biodiversity, Global Forest) to promote nature-based solutions for the 2030 Agenda. It supports sustainable development pathways through conservation, restoration, and ecosystem management, alongside promoting effective governance of natural resources. The programme aims to showcase and celebrate solutions that achieve sustainable development goals at all levels.

Job Purpose

The Nature for Development team is revamping the Learning for Nature platform to enhance user experience and accessibility of free learning resources on biodiversity, climate, and sustainable development. This role supports the quality assurance of the Portuguese version of the platform. The Online Volunteer will test the website, review Portuguese translations for accuracy and consistency, and identify any language, formatting, or display issues. This contribution is crucial for ensuring the platform effectively serves its global Portuguese-speaking audience.

Responsibilities

Support the testing of the Portuguese version of the Learning for Nature website during its revamp. Review the website to ensure Portuguese translations are accurate, clear, and consistent. Identify and report any language or formatting issues that require correction. Collaborate with the team to address identified errors and improve the overall user experience of the platform. Contribute to the quality assurance process for multilingual content on the e-learning platform.

Work Experience

Native Portuguese speaker with strong writing and proofreading abilities. Experience in website content review or testing multilingual websites is highly desirable. A general understanding of global development and environmental issues is also important.
