Organizational Context

Job Purpose

This role supports UNICEF's Education in Emergencies projects in Mexico by managing critical information. The volunteer will assist in developing and implementing reporting mechanisms with partners, creating data matrices, databases, dashboards, and visual reports to track interventions in education and migration. The position involves consolidating and analyzing data for donor reports and designing visual products to support decision-making, communication, and resource mobilization. The volunteer will also manage documentation for the Education in Emergencies Task Force, including maintaining 5W and Kobo databases, analyzing situation reports, and updating online platforms. This role is crucial for ensuring effective information flow and supporting the humanitarian response for children affected by emergencies.

Responsibilities

Support implementing partners in establishing and developing quantitative and qualitative reporting mechanisms for field interventions. Develop information matrices, databases, dashboards, reports, and visual monitoring products to facilitate analysis and tracking of education and migration interventions, as well as other education programs. Assist the Monitoring and Evaluation section of UNICEF Mexico in providing monthly updates on field interventions and inputting data into online monitoring systems. Consolidate, analyze, and structure quantitative and qualitative information for donor reports. Design graphical and visual products on education program results to aid decision-making, accountability, communication, and resource mobilization. Manage and maintain documentation, information products, and technical materials for the Education in Emergencies Task Force, including preparing for sessions, managing 5W and Kobo databases, analyzing situation data, and updating online platforms. Administer and maintain the Education section's SharePoint structure, ensuring information organization and accessibility. Update the internal Education section dashboard with National Education System figures. Ensure compliance with UNICEF's institutional standards for data management, confidentiality, and protection.

Work Experience

Minimum of 3 years of experience in at least two of the following areas: information management and databases, development of data visualization products, or developing dashboards and indicators. Proven experience with Excel, Kobo, and Power BI is essential. Desirable experience includes supporting development projects (especially in education or humanitarian response), emergency programs, or working within the UN system and international NGOs. The position is remote within Mexico, with availability for official travel nationwide, including to the UNICEF Mexico office and emergency-affected zones.
