The Women of Uganda Network (WOUGNET) is a women's rights NGO focused on promoting the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) for gender equality and sustainable development in Uganda. WOUGNET aims to empower women and girls by enhancing their digital literacy and ensuring their meaningful participation in technology. The organization operates in an environment with challenges like limited rural internet access, high connectivity costs, and persistent gender digital divides, making its work crucial for inclusive digital transformation.
Job Purpose
This role supports WOUGNET's institutional strengthening and visibility by designing a professional and aesthetically appealing strategic plan for 2026. The purpose is to create a visually engaging document that clearly communicates WOUGNET's vision, mission, and thematic focus on Gender Equality, Digital Innovation, and Technology. The designed plan will serve as a key component of the organization's broader communications strategy, reinforcing its brand as a Centre of Excellence. The contribution is to translate complex information into an accessible format, ensuring the strategic plan is easily understood and distributed among partners and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
The UNV Online Volunteer will be responsible for reviewing the existing strategic plan's structure and layout. They will design an aesthetic and appealing visual style for the document, ensuring it is publishable and easily consumable by partners and stakeholders. This includes incorporating feedback from the WOUGNET team to refine the design concept. The volunteer will deliver a final formatted strategic plan in multiple formats suitable for both digital and print use, such as .docx and .pdf. The core task is to create a visually compelling and brand-aligned strategic plan that enhances WOUGNET's communication efforts and strengthens its identity.
Work Experience
Required experience includes proven graphic design and visual branding skills. Experience in logo design for NGOs, social impact, or development organizations is considered an asset. Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or equivalent is necessary. Creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to translate concepts into visual identity are essential.
