Relecture de deux rapports
Organizational Context
The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) is the UN agency for sexual and reproductive health, committed to a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe, and every young person's potential is fulfilled. UNFPA works to achieve universal access to sexual and reproductive health, realize reproductive rights, and reduce maternal mortality. In Benin, UNFPA has supported intensive monitoring studies on sexual and reproductive health education and an exploratory study on the untapped potential of girls, generating recommendations for various stakeholders.
Job Purpose
This role supports UNFPA Benin's efforts to ensure wide dissemination and optimal appropriation of two key reports: the HRP study on sexual and reproductive health education and the 'Untapped Potential of Girls' study. The primary objective is to facilitate the national adoption of the findings from these research initiatives. The volunteer will contribute by meticulously reviewing and editing the finalized versions of these reports, ensuring their clarity, accuracy, and consistency, thereby enhancing their impact and usability for policymakers, educational and health systems, and community actors.
Responsibilities
The volunteer will conduct a thorough proofreading of two finalized reports (HRP and PIF). This includes verifying internal consistency to ensure logical flow and coherence throughout the documents. The role also involves correcting linguistic and stylistic errors to enhance readability and professionalism. A key responsibility is harmonizing terminology according to UNFPA, WHO, and HRP standards. Additionally, the volunteer will propose a final structure for the reports, ensuring the executive summary is well-integrated and that distinct visual syntheses are appropriately handled, contributing to the overall quality and accessibility of the research outputs.
Work Experience
Required experience includes demonstrated expertise in scientific or technical writing in French. Proficiency in critically reviewing operational research reports is essential. Familiarity with UNFPA/WHO standards related to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) or Sexual and Reproductive Health Education (SRHE) is also required.
Skills
Essential skills include advanced proficiency in French for scientific and technical writing and proofreading. The volunteer must possess strong critical analysis skills for reviewing research reports. Knowledge of UNFPA/WHO standards in SRHR/SRHE is necessary. The ability to ensure terminological consistency and propose structural improvements for reports is also crucial.
