Job Purpose

This role involves teaching online computer classes in basic skills to underprivileged children in Tamil Nadu, India. The volunteer will contribute to the Ann Foundation's mission of empowering children through education and literacy. The assignment offers a chance to make a significant impact by developing children's digital literacy and English language skills. Volunteers will deliver engaging lessons, support learning, and help prepare children to become lifelong learners, contributing directly to their personal and academic growth within a structured online learning environment.

Responsibilities

Conduct online computer classes in basic skills for underprivileged children in Tamil Nadu, India, for two hours per week (one hour per day, two consecutive days). Deliver lessons using platforms like Zoom or Google Meet, adhering to provided curriculum and orientation. Ensure classes are scheduled between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Engage children effectively to improve their computer skills and support their overall learning journey. Communicate proficiently in both Tamil and English to facilitate clear instruction and interaction with students. Contribute to the Ann Foundation's literacy program by empowering children through digital education.

Work Experience

While not strictly necessary, some background in teaching is desirable. Volunteers must be proficient in both spoken Tamil and English to effectively deliver the online classes and interact with the students.

Skills

Proficiency in spoken Tamil and English is mandatory. Basic computer skills are required for teaching. Experience or background in teaching is beneficial.
