Job Purpose
This role supports WHO's strategic communication efforts by creating and disseminating engaging digital content, including infographics and videos, to inform Member States, partners, health workers, media, and the public about critical health issues and WHO's regional initiatives. The objective is to leverage multimedia content to enhance health outcomes and support WHO's mission. The associate will contribute to the development and execution of social media strategies, ensuring content is relevant, timely, and actionable, thereby strengthening WHO's communication impact in the Western Pacific Region.
Responsibilities
The National Digital Communications Associate will develop engaging digital content (graphics, videos, reels) for WHO WPRO's social media platforms, supporting regional and country-level communication priorities, advocacy, and public health campaigns. Responsibilities include supporting the social media strategy, maintaining content calendars, and scheduling posts. The associate will monitor social media engagement, track content performance, and provide analytical insights. They will also assist in multimedia productions, including concept development, filming, photography, and post-production, and provide ad hoc audiovisual and graphic design support. Additionally, the role involves producing monthly highlight videos, offering technical guidance and capacity-building to communications focal points, and maintaining the WHO Multimedia Library.
Work Experience
Requires at least 3 years of national or international experience in communication, digital marketing, broadcast, graphic design, or new media. Experience with WHO or the UN system is an asset. Proficiency in multimedia content production, digital storytelling, graphic design, and video editing software is essential. Strong computer literacy and familiarity with communication for development/health approaches are beneficial.
