Job Purpose
This role supports the UNDP SDG Innovation Pilot Project on Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship, based at the UNDP-Tsinghua Youth Innovation Hub in Shenzhen. Aligned with UNDP's Youth Strategy, the project aims to create an inclusive environment for youth to achieve SDGs. The Hub, a collaboration between UNDP China, Tsinghua University, and local government, serves as a platform for stakeholders to explore youth entrepreneurship trends. It will promote knowledge sharing, peer learning, and establish a national platform to empower young changemakers, leveraging UNDP's experience to foster innovative solutions and support China's high-quality development.
Responsibilities
The UN Volunteer will assist in the implementation of the UNDP SDG Innovation Pilot Project on Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship. This includes supporting project planning, design, and activity implementation, liaising with vendors, and ensuring timely and quality project execution. Responsibilities also involve making timely financial reports, developing work plan frameworks for monitoring and evaluation, and completing assigned tasks. The role requires promoting communication among project partners, maintaining reporting mechanisms, and managing financial communications with stakeholders. Additionally, the volunteer will develop and implement an M&E framework and contribute to knowledge management by collecting, analyzing, and compiling data, and facilitating international conferences for knowledge exchange.
Work Experience
A minimum of 1 month of experience is required, with 1 year of relevant experience being desirable. Experience in youth work, project formulation, implementation, and monitoring at the national or international level is an asset. Previous experience with the UN system, government partners, or civil society, along with knowledge of UN/UNDP procedures, is beneficial. Skills in managing development projects financially, technically, and administratively are highly valued.
