Organizational Context

The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) program supports the "PROGRAMA DE COORDINACIÓN EN SALUD INTEGRAL - PROCOSI" in Bolivia. This initiative aims to enhance public health and occupational safety by addressing the growing priority of mental health in the workplace. Currently, Bolivia lacks a scientifically validated version of the COPSOQ-ISTAS21 questionnaire, a key international tool for assessing psychosocial risks at work.

Job Purpose

This assignment seeks to provide technical support for the cultural adaptation and psychometric validation of the COPSOQ-ISTAS21 version 2 questionnaire within the Bolivian context. The goal is to equip the country with a robust scientific instrument for evaluating psychosocial risks in the workplace. By contributing to this process, the volunteer will play a crucial role in advancing the understanding and management of occupational mental health, aligning with global priorities in public health and occupational safety and health.

Responsibilities

The volunteer will provide technical expertise to the PROCOSI team for the psychometric validation of the COPSOQ-ISTAS21 version 2 in Bolivia. Key responsibilities include offering guidance on psychometric methodology, assisting in the planning of statistical validation processes, and ensuring the quality of the database prior to analysis. The role involves collaborating on instrument reliability analysis, such as internal consistency, and supporting construct validity analyses using appropriate techniques like exploratory and/or confirmatory factor analysis. The volunteer will also participate in interpreting psychometric results, formulating recommendations for methodological improvements, and contributing to the final technical report on the psychometric analysis.

Work Experience

Required experience includes specialization in psychometrics, evidenced by a relevant diploma, Master's, or Doctorate. Alternatively, candidates with a Bachelor's degree and proven experience in psychometric validation are eligible. The role involves supporting statistical validation, reliability, and construct validity analyses.

Skills

Proficiency in psychometric methodology is essential. Skills in statistical validation, data quality review, reliability analysis (e.g., internal consistency), and construct validity analysis (e.g., factor analysis) are required. The ability to interpret psychometric results and formulate methodological recommendations is also crucial. Fluency in Spanish is a mandatory requirement.
