Job Purpose
The Humanitarian Analyst will support UNFPA Jordan's SRHR and GBV response in refugee camps and host communities. This role involves contributing to humanitarian analysis, programme management, coordination, monitoring, and reporting, particularly within the evolving humanitarian-development nexus. The analyst will provide evidence-based recommendations to inform programme planning and adaptation, monitor partner interventions, and strengthen the quality and accessibility of SRH and GBV services. The position aims to ensure humanitarian interventions remain responsive to the needs of refugees and vulnerable populations, supporting preparedness efforts and early warning analysis.
Responsibilities
The Humanitarian Analyst will contribute to humanitarian analysis, programme management, coordination, monitoring, reporting, and strategic support for UNFPA Jordan’s SRHR and GBV response. Key duties include analyzing the humanitarian context, identifying needs, vulnerabilities, and risks to inform programme planning. The role involves contributing to the planning, implementation, and monitoring of SRHR and GBV interventions, ensuring alignment with humanitarian principles and response plans. The analyst will monitor implementing partners' progress, identify gaps, and provide analytical input to enhance service quality and accessibility. Responsibilities also include contributing to needs assessments, data collection, and analysis to generate evidence on humanitarian needs and service accessibility. Furthermore, the role supports engagement in humanitarian coordination mechanisms, maintaining effective working relationships with stakeholders, and contributing to joint analysis and information sharing. Reporting duties include preparing humanitarian and donor reports, concept notes, and advocacy materials, as well as documenting good practices and lessons learned.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of professional experience in humanitarian or development settings, preferably in complex emergency contexts. This includes demonstrated experience in humanitarian programme support, monitoring, coordination, reporting, and analysis. Experience in gender equality, SRHR, GBV, or protection issues is required. Strong analytical, reporting, and coordination skills are essential. Previous experience with UN agencies or in refugee response settings is desirable.
