Job Purpose
The UN Volunteer will support the UNAIDS Office in China in developing, translating, implementing, monitoring, and reporting on international cooperation projects funded by CIDCA. This role is crucial for advancing South-South cooperation and strengthening global health responses. The volunteer will provide essential translation and interpretation services for project proposals, reports, and correspondence between Chinese and English. By facilitating clear communication and coordination among UNAIDS, CIDCA, CICETE, UN agencies, government counterparts, and other stakeholders, the position directly contributes to effective project execution and the overall mission of UNAIDS in China.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the UNAIDS Policy and Strategy Adviser, the UN Volunteer will provide comprehensive translation, proofreading, and editing support for project documents in Chinese and English, including proposals, budgets, agreements, and reports. Responsibilities include tracking workplans, activities, and reporting requirements for GDF-funded projects, and assisting in the preparation of progress reports, meeting minutes, and presentations. The role involves supporting the organization and coordination of meetings, workshops, and training programs related to South-South cooperation and global health. Additionally, the volunteer will maintain project records, assist with budget monitoring and administrative follow-up, conduct research on global health and international development, and support communication activities to promote project achievements.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of relevant experience is required, including demonstrated experience in written translation and/or interpretation between Chinese and English. Experience in project coordination, programme management, international cooperation, or administrative support is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and strong organizational, coordination, and time-management skills are necessary. Desirable experience includes working with international organizations, knowledge of global health issues, and familiarity with China's international development cooperation mechanisms.
