The Governance, Rule of Law, and Peacebuilding (GRP) Hub, a collaboration between the Crisis Bureau and the Bureau for Policy and Programme Support, aims to enhance UNDP's positioning and resource mobilization. It advances effective solutions for accountable governance, crisis prevention and response, and peacebuilding, while addressing underlying risks.
Job Purpose
The Governance, Rule of Law, and Peacebuilding (GRP) Hub seeks an Online Volunteer to bolster its communications, visibility, and digital engagement. The volunteer will translate complex governance, peacebuilding, and development concepts into accessible and visually appealing content for platforms like LinkedIn. This role involves creating graphics, drafting social media posts, developing templates, and supporting content planning. The assignment aims to increase the visibility of UNDP's work, knowledge products, and impact in the GRP sector, offering valuable experience in strategic communications and knowledge sharing with a global UNDP team.
Responsibilities
The Online Volunteer will support the GRP Hub's content strategy to maximize reach and follower growth, identifying opportunities for partnerships and audience engagement. Key duties include managing the LinkedIn account by creating and publishing at least four posts weekly, incorporating social media cards, banners, and infographics using Canva. The volunteer will also generate, edit, and share engaging content, including original text, photos, videos, and news, on a weekly basis. Collaboration with other teams to ensure brand consistency across social media channels is also expected. The role requires day-to-day management of the LinkedIn account and supporting communications strategy development and content planning.
Work Experience
Demonstrated experience in communications, public information, digital marketing, journalism, or graphic design is required. Proficiency in Canva and visual content creation is essential. Experience managing or supporting organizational social media channels, particularly LinkedIn, is necessary. The ability to design engaging social media graphics, infographics, and carousel posts, along with experience in communications strategy development and content planning, is also required.
Skills
Proficiency in Canva and visual content creation. Strong graphic design skills for social media. Excellent drafting, editing, and storytelling abilities. Experience managing social media platforms, especially LinkedIn. Ability to work independently in a remote environment. Familiarity with international development, governance, peacebuilding, or UN-related topics is desirable. Fluency in English is required.
