Job Purpose
The UNV Digital Communication Assistant will significantly enhance WHO Guinea-Bissau's digital presence and public engagement. This role is pivotal in strengthening the organization's visibility across various communication platforms through compelling multimedia storytelling. The assistant will contribute to effectively communicating WHO and government-led health initiatives, ensuring partner visibility, and providing timely, impactful communication during campaigns, missions, public health events, and emergency responses. The position aims to increase audience engagement, disseminate accurate health information, and promote WHO's broader goals of advancing universal health coverage and well-being.
Responsibilities
The UNV Digital Communication Assistant will manage and update WHO social media platforms, developing and implementing digital content calendars aligned with organizational priorities. Responsibilities include producing diverse digital communication materials such as graphics, social media cards, photo stories, and infographics, as well as editing short videos and audiovisual content for health campaigns. The role involves developing creative digital communication ideas and storytelling approaches to boost audience engagement and visibility. Additionally, the assistant will support the creation of press releases, web stories, and presentations, monitor digital engagement and media trends, and manage the WHO country office website. Support for communication and visibility of WHO events, campaigns, and public health observances is also required.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of overall experience is required, with at least two years of relevant experience in digital communications. This includes strong skills in graphic design, visual content production, and video editing for digital platforms. Experience managing social media, digital engagement strategies, and supporting event communication is essential. Previous experience within the UN system or international organizations is highly desirable.
