The Country Office focuses on evidence-based programming, coordinated responses, and system strengthening across health, education, child protection, and social protection. This role supports strengthening programme management capacity and coordination to ensure effective delivery of UNICEF-supported programmes in collaboration with various stakeholders.
Job Purpose
The UN Volunteer will be embedded within the UNICEF Jordan Country Office, supporting programme management, coordination, monitoring, and reporting functions. The role involves strengthening programme implementation, partner coordination, documentation, and knowledge management to achieve equitable outcomes for children and communities. The volunteer will work closely with government counterparts, implementing partners, UN agencies, and donors to facilitate timely delivery of programme results, contributing to the UNICEF Jordan Country Programme objectives through enhanced coordination, reporting, quality assurance, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
Support the planning, coordination, and implementation of programme activities aligned with workplans and priorities. Track programme progress against timelines, deliverables, and targets. Assist in preparing, reviewing, and assuring the quality of programme documents, reports, and presentations. Follow up with implementing partners on actions and reporting requirements. Support monitoring activities, data collection, analysis, and documentation of results. Contribute to donor and internal reports. Maintain organized programme documentation and knowledge products. Assist in organizing meetings, workshops, and field visits, preparing agendas and minutes. Support coordination with government, partners, and UN agencies. Assist in establishing community feedback mechanisms. Document lessons learned and good practices. Support capacity development for counterparts. Assist in tracking programme expenditures and budget utilization. Ensure compliance with UNICEF procedures and standards.
Work Experience
Requires at least 3 years of relevant professional experience in programme management, project coordination, monitoring and reporting, or administration. Demonstrated experience in programme planning, implementation, and coordination is essential. Experience in preparing reports and programme documentation is required. Strong organizational, time-management, problem-solving, and coordination skills are necessary. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to work effectively in multicultural teams are also required.
