Job Purpose
This role supports the "EU Support to Confidence Building in the Western Balkans" project, focusing on good governance, rule of law, and access to justice. The UN Volunteer will contribute to enhancing the capacity of judicial and law enforcement authorities in handling war crimes cases, improving regional cooperation, and strengthening support services for victims and witnesses. The position also involves promoting public awareness and dialogue on past conflicts to build sustainable peace and social cohesion. The role requires developing communication strategies, supporting grant-making processes, and ensuring project visibility and impact reporting.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement an annual communication plan aligned with UNDP and EU guidelines. Create communication products (press releases, blog posts, web stories) to highlight project impact. Manage social media content and liaise with the EU Delegation's Communication Unit. Maintain digital media archives and evaluate communication strategy effectiveness. Provide operational support for grant-making processes, including reviewing proposals and overseeing grantee activities. Evaluate technical proposals, budgets, and workplans against selection criteria. Assist in preparing progress and final project reports. Conduct research to identify innovative approaches for the project's areas of work.
Work Experience
Requires three years of experience in communication and project management, working with diverse stakeholders including local institutions, civil society, and international organizations. Demonstrated experience in project implementation, research, and social media platforms is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and database management is expected.
