Organizational Context
UN Women (UNW) is dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women globally. In the State of Palestine, UN Women has been active since 1997, focusing on advancing gender equality in line with national priorities. The office works on mainstreaming gender in governance, peace, and security; supporting women's economic security and rights; and promoting women's protection against violence. The current humanitarian crisis has disproportionately affected women and girls, increasing their vulnerabilities and protection risks.
Job Purpose
This assignment aims to support UN Women Palestine's partnership and resource mobilization efforts amidst a severe humanitarian crisis. The role will ensure that gender equality and women's leadership are integrated into humanitarian response, recovery, and long-term resilience-building initiatives. The volunteer will contribute to developing concept notes and proposals, organizing partnership events, conducting donor research, and tracking funding opportunities. The objective is to strengthen UN Women's capacity to secure resources and build strategic partnerships to address the critical needs of women and girls in Palestine.
Responsibilities
The volunteer will support the design and drafting of concept notes and proposals, including multi-agency initiatives. Key duties include organizing partnership events and briefings, conducting research on potential donors and partners, identifying and tracking funding opportunities, and preparing donor intelligence briefs. Specific tasks may involve researching and profiling potential institutional donors and strategic partners, contributing to the drafting or review of concept notes and funding proposals, and preparing materials for partnership meetings or donor engagement events. Collaboration with UN Women team members and potentially other UN agencies is expected.
Work Experience
Required experience includes designing and drafting concept notes and proposals within development and/or humanitarian settings. Desirable experience includes designing multi-agency joint programmes and organizing events and briefings. Fluency in English is also required.
Skills
Key skills include proposal development, grant writing, partnership building, donor research, and event organization. Strong research, analytical, and communication abilities are essential. The role requires proficiency in English and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, potentially with other UN agencies.
