Job Purpose
This role supports WHO's mission by enhancing its digital outreach through compelling visual and multimedia content. The Multimedia Communication Assistant will be instrumental in creating engaging materials that communicate vital health information, support awareness campaigns, and advocate for health policies. By producing high-quality graphics and videos, the incumbent will help cut through information overload, ensuring WHO's messages on critical health issues like disease prevention, immunization, and health systems are understood and remembered. This position directly contributes to strengthening WHO's visibility, credibility, and overall impact across digital platforms, ultimately supporting the goal of achieving better health for everyone, everywhere.
Responsibilities
The UN Volunteer will design and produce high-quality visual content, including infographics, social media visuals, reports, and campaign materials, to support health promotion and policy communication. Responsibilities include producing and editing short videos and multimedia products with subtitles for outreach on priority health programmes such as disease prevention and immunization. The role involves adapting content for websites and social media platforms to boost engagement and visibility. Additionally, the volunteer will contribute to communication planning for campaigns and public health responses, including rapid asset production. Professional photography during events and missions is also required. The volunteer will perform other related duties to support WHO's communication objectives and strengthen health messaging impact.
Work Experience
A minimum of 1 month of work experience is required, with a preference for 2 years of relevant experience. This includes demonstrated experience in graphic design, video recording and editing, and multimedia production for digital platforms. Strong professional photography skills are also essential. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, and video editing software like DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro is expected.
