Job Purpose
The Community Digitalization Coordinator will support UNICEF Sierra Leone's Community-Based Digital Transformation (CBDx) model, a cross-sectoral platform designed to enhance equitable access to digital learning and economic opportunities for young people. The role involves operationalizing, integrating, ensuring quality, and monitoring the performance of the CBDx model, which encompasses physical hubs, digital content, and youth engagement systems. The coordinator will work collaboratively across UNICEF sections and with government and implementing partners, contributing to the model's effectiveness and sustainability, and ensuring it reaches underserved communities.
Responsibilities
The Community Digitalization Coordinator will support the operationalization and integration of the CBDx model, ensuring coherence across its seven components and translating strategic priorities into practical operational models and tools. This includes facilitating coordination with UNICEF teams and government priorities. The role involves supporting the development of delivery platform standards and monitoring performance data across locations, identifying gaps, and coordinating with partners for quality improvement. Additionally, the coordinator will strengthen the content ecosystem by supporting the creation, curation, and localization of learning pathways, ensuring cultural relevance and integration with digital systems. The position also entails strengthening youth engagement systems, including the Digital Champions model and youth clubs, promoting meaningful participation. Finally, the coordinator will contribute to sustainability approaches, document learning, develop performance frameworks, and facilitate capacity development and knowledge transfer to partners and colleagues.
Work Experience
Requires 7 years of overall experience, with at least 5 years of relevant experience. This includes demonstrated ability to translate strategy into practical systems and tools, coordinate multi-stakeholder programs, and experience with digital platforms and youth engagement. Experience in Sub-Saharan Africa, particularly Sierra Leone or West Africa, and prior work with UNICEF or UN entities are desirable.
