The UNV Global Policy Centre for Governance (GPCG) aims to foster more inclusive, transparent, and effective governance systems worldwide. It addresses development challenges rooted in governance by leveraging research, analysis, and UNDP's convening power to create and advance practical policy solutions. This role specifically supports the Centre's focus on Financial Integrity, a critical area for achieving sustainable development through enhanced transparency, accountability, and cooperation.

Job Purpose

This assignment supports the UNV Global Policy Centre for Governance's priority workstream on Financial Integrity. The role involves contributing to the development of integrated policy alternatives and systemic derisking approaches that enhance trust, predictability, and accountability. The objective is to strengthen the enabling environment for sustainable investment by improving transparency, institutions, and cooperation at all levels. The specialist will play a key role in advancing practical solutions to governance challenges related to financial integrity, aligning with the Centre's mission to provide evidence-based guidance for stronger global governance systems.

Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Programme Coordinator, the Financial Integrity Specialist will contribute to the analysis and development of policy alternatives focused on financial integrity. This includes supporting activities that convene policymakers, practitioners, and research partners to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange. The role also involves assisting with capacity strengthening initiatives and advocacy efforts related to financial integrity. Furthermore, the specialist will contribute to creating accessible knowledge products such as briefs, dashboards, and reports, and will facilitate knowledge management and learning processes within this critical area.

Work Experience

A minimum of three years of professional experience at national and international levels is required, specifically working on financial integrity issues such as domestic resource mobilization, public financial management, or anti-corruption. Demonstrated knowledge of national or international financial integrity systems and frameworks is essential. Experience with UN/UNDP's work in governance and sustainable financing is highly desirable.

Skills

Key competencies include accountability, adaptability, flexibility, creativity, sound judgment, decision-making, planning, organizing, professionalism, and self-management. Technical expertise in economics, poverty reduction, finance, and accounting is also relevant. Fluency in English is required, with proficiency in another UN official language being an asset.
