Job Purpose
The Donor Relations Officer will play a key role within UNICEF Bangladesh's Partnerships Unit, supporting resource mobilization efforts in Cox's Bazaar and Dhaka. The assignment aims to ensure adequate funding for existing and new country programs by managing donor relations and ensuring high-quality proposals and reports. The incumbent will be instrumental in maintaining strong donor relationships, safeguarding fundraising activities, and ensuring compliance with donor agreements. This role is critical for the credibility and success of UNICEF's operations in Bangladesh, directly impacting the ability to deliver results for children amidst complex humanitarian and development challenges.
Responsibilities
The UN Volunteer Donor Relations Officer will update and maintain donor reporting requirements and templates, providing regular updates and follow-up to ensure timely submissions. Responsibilities include preparing high-quality concept notes, funding proposals, and donor reports, ensuring standardization, quality assurance, and adherence to donor requirements. The role involves managing the SharePoint repository for donor documents, collaborating with the External Communications section for visibility requirements, and supporting grant extensions and program change requests. Additionally, the officer will monitor fund utilization and grant expiry in coordination with the Budget Unit, conduct donor research, prepare briefing notes, coordinate donor engagements, and provide training to staff and partners to enhance reporting quality.
Work Experience
A minimum of seven years of professional experience in external relations, fundraising, or grant management at the national or international level is required. Experience within the UN system or other international development organizations is advantageous. Strong written and oral communication skills, proficiency in MS Office, and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment under tight deadlines are essential.
