Organizational Context

The PROGRAMA DE COORDINACIÓN EN SALUD INTEGRAL (PROCOSI) aims to strengthen capacities in applied research and evidence utilization for planning, management, advocacy, and resource mobilization. It promotes practical methodologies for NGOs, including participatory approaches, mixed methods, monitoring, evaluation, and data analysis. PROCOSI also emphasizes the ethical and strategic use of evidence to communicate impact, inform programs, and advance integral health agendas within its network.

Job Purpose

This assignment seeks a senior facilitator to design and deliver a practical workshop on applied research and evidence for decision-making, tailored for civil society organizations working on integral health, social determinants, advocacy, and program management. The workshop will enhance participants' ability to formulate applied research questions, organize evidence, and utilize findings effectively. The facilitator will contribute to PROCOSI's strategic initiative to build capacity in areas like digital health, AI, and One Health, ensuring the workshop content is relevant and actionable for organizations with varying technical maturity.

Responsibilities

The facilitator will coordinate with PROCOSI to tailor the workshop content to organizational needs and participant experience levels. Key duties include designing a 2-hour applied session focused on translating institutional questions into actionable evidence, covering topics such as the evidence generation cycle, question formulation, data sources and quality, rapid and participatory methods, indicator use, translating evidence for decision-making and advocacy, and data ethics. The role involves facilitating a practical exercise for developing research or systematization questions, identifying information sources, and defining outcome utilization. The facilitator must also prepare and deliver editable materials, including a presentation, an evidence generation and use matrix, and a synthesis of recommendations.

Work Experience

Proven experience in applied research, generating evidence for policies and programs, evaluation, systematization, and utilizing participatory methodologies is essential. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to guide organizations with diverse technical capacities and translate programmatic needs into research questions and evidence products. Desirable experience includes working with NGOs, international cooperation, health networks, academia, public entities, or evidence-based advocacy. Familiarity with AI tools for literature review and analysis is also preferred.

Skills

Strong facilitation and training skills are paramount. Expertise in applied research methodologies, evidence generation, data analysis, monitoring and evaluation, and knowledge management is required. The ability to adapt content to different organizational capacities and translate programmatic needs into actionable research questions is crucial. Proficiency in Spanish is mandatory, with desirable skills in English. Familiarity with ethical considerations in data handling and AI tools for research is a plus.
