Organizational Context

The PROGRAMA DE COORDINACIÓN EN SALUD INTEGRAL - PROCOSI (PROCOSI) aims to strengthen the capacities of its network organizations in integral health programs. This involves understanding and applying the One Health approach, linking it with social determinants of health, climate change, environmental risks, and intervention sustainability. PROCOSI seeks to identify opportunities for multisectoral action and foster alliances among health, environment, community, academia, subnational governments, and civil society sectors.

Job Purpose

PROCOSI is organizing a series of strategic workshops to enhance the capabilities of its network members in areas such as digital health, artificial intelligence, One Health, and applied research. This assignment specifically seeks a senior facilitator to design and deliver a practical workshop. The workshop will be tailored for civil society organizations actively engaged in integral health, social determinants, advocacy, and program management. The facilitator's role is crucial in contextualizing the One Health approach to their specific work, enabling them to better integrate this concept into their ongoing projects and territorial initiatives.

Responsibilities

The volunteer will coordinate with PROCOSI to contextualize the workshop content, focusing on integral health and social determinants. Responsibilities include designing a two-hour session with conceptual content and practical exercises relevant to NGO work in the field. Key topics to cover are the fundamentals of One Health, the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health, social determinants, climate change impacts on health, and examples of multisectoral interventions. The volunteer will facilitate an exercise for mapping One Health risks and opportunities within the organizations' projects or territories. Finally, the volunteer will prepare and submit editable materials to PROCOSI, including the presentation, a One Health analysis matrix, and a summary of recommendations.

Work Experience

Demonstrated experience in the One Health approach, environmental health, climate change and health, social determinants, risk management, community interventions, or multisectoral programs is essential. The ability to connect technical concepts with practical, community-based examples applicable to NGOs is also required. Desirable experience includes working with health networks, international cooperation, academia, local/subnational governments, or intersectoral alliances. Familiarity with AI tools for analysis is a plus.

Skills

Proficiency in Spanish (native level) is required. Fair English language skills are desirable. Key competencies include the ability to design and facilitate workshops, strong understanding of public health principles, and the capacity to link theoretical concepts with practical field applications. Experience in environmental health, climate change, and social determinants of health is crucial. Familiarity with AI tools is considered an advantage.
