Organizational Context
The UN in Thailand has partnered with the Royal Thai Government for over fifty years, supporting national development priorities through a Country Team of 21 agencies. Currently, the UNCT is formulating its Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (2022-2026) and implementing a COVID-19 response plan. The UN Operations Management Team (OMT-Thailand), under the Resident Coordinator's Office, aims to enhance development assistance delivery and reduce transaction costs through coordinated operational support across all UN entities in Thailand.
Job Purpose
The Operations Management Team (OMT) Secretariat will provide essential support to the OMT-Thailand, which coordinates operational support across all UN entities in Bangkok. This role involves organizing and documenting OMT and Working Group meetings, tracking action points, and serving as a focal point for key initiatives like the Business Operations Strategy (BOS), Common Premises (CP), and Common Back Office (CBO). The position is crucial for ensuring efficient and effective operational coordination, ultimately enhancing the UN's development assistance delivery and reducing transaction costs for both the UN and its partners.
Responsibilities
The OMT Secretariat will organize and manage OMT and Working Group meetings, including retreats, and produce accurate minutes, tracking progress on decisions. This role involves acting as the secretariat for all Working Groups, liaising with chairs, setting agendas, and following up on action points. The incumbent will serve as the focal point for the Business Operations Strategy (BOS), Common Premises (CP), and Common Back Office (CBO), following up on related activities and conducting benchmarking analysis for BOS performance. Responsibilities also include managing the OMT document repository on SharePoint, updating member lists quarterly, and performing any other assigned tasks. Additionally, the role encourages integrating UNV programme mandates, promoting volunteerism, and contributing to UNV publications and activities.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of professional work experience at the national and/or international level in administration or relevant programmes is required. Experience coordinating with international organizations, particularly within the UN system, is an asset. Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, SharePoint) and database management is essential. Affinity with or interest in volunteerism and the UN System is also desired.

The role requires excellent planning, organizing, and time management skills to handle a large workload under pressure.
