Organizational Context

The Integral Health Coordination Program (PROCOSI) aims to strengthen the understanding of its network organizations regarding digital health and artificial intelligence (AI). The program seeks to identify practical applications of digital tools and AI to enhance health program management, coverage, communication, and impact. It also emphasizes promoting critical analysis of ethical considerations, equity, data protection, and governance in AI implementation within the health sector.

Job Purpose

This assignment supports PROCOSI's strategic workshops designed to build the capacity of its network organizations in digital health, AI, One Health, and applied research. The core purpose is to engage a senior expert to design and facilitate a practical workshop tailored for civil society organizations working in integral health, social determinants, advocacy, and program management. The expert will help these organizations understand and critically assess digital health and AI, identify concrete applications, and consider ethical implications, ultimately contributing to improved program delivery and impact.

Responsibilities

The volunteer will coordinate with PROCOSI to refine the workshop's focus and content based on participant needs. Key responsibilities include designing a 2-hour strategic and practical session for health program-implementing civil society organizations. The workshop will cover essential topics such as digital health concepts, current AI applications in health and program management, ethical and operational risks, criteria for adopting digital tools, and relevant NGO use cases. The volunteer will facilitate a practical exercise for participants to identify AI or digital health opportunities within their programs and will deliver editable materials, including a presentation, a responsible use guide/checklist, and a summary of recommendations to PROCOSI.

Work Experience

Requires demonstrated experience in digital health, AI applied to health, digital solution design, social innovation, interoperability, data protection, or health system/program transformation. Experience with PAHO/WHO, international cooperation, the public sector, academia, health networks, or digital transformation programs in Latin America is desirable. Familiarity with the Bolivian context or digital implementation challenges for civil society organizations is also a plus.

Skills

Proficiency in Spanish (native) is required. Fair English is desirable. Key competencies include the ability to design and facilitate workshops, strong communication skills to explain complex topics like AI clearly and ethically, and a critical understanding of digital health and AI applications, risks, and ethical considerations. Experience in public health, digital health, AI, data science, or related fields is necessary.
