Job Purpose
This role supports post-event communication for the Youth Scientists Salon, held during the 2026 Mountain Green Sustainable Development International Cooperation Forum. The assignment focuses on consolidating and developing communication materials and records into accessible bilingual outputs. Volunteers will transform activity materials, speaker information, discussion highlights, photos, and feedback into concise bilingual content for awareness-raising, reporting, and knowledge sharing. The goal is to effectively communicate the outcomes of the Salon, which focused on green technology needs, renewable energy localization, international volunteer service, and youth-led cooperation mechanisms for sustainable development.
Responsibilities
The Online Volunteers will support bilingual translation, content creation, and digital storytelling for the Youth Scientists Salon. Key tasks include translating and proofreading Chinese-English materials (meeting notes, profiles, highlights, captions), organizing and synthesizing provided event materials (photos, concept notes, documents), and drafting speaker/participant introductions and post-event summaries. Volunteers will also prepare bilingual communication materials (e.g., activity highlights, news items, digital stories), translate key documents including the Youth Declaration, and suggest youth-friendly storytelling angles related to renewable energy, climate action, and SDGs. They will review materials to identify key messages and ensure consistency in terminology across all bilingual outputs, culminating in a concise meeting outcome summary.
Work Experience
Previous experience or demonstrated interest in translation, writing, editing, communication outreach, social media content creation, storytelling, or awareness-raising activities is required. Experience in news writing, translating event materials, preparing social media posts, editing bilingual content, or supporting communication for academic/international activities is advantageous.
Skills
Required skills include Chinese-English translation and proofreading, writing and editing communication materials, social media content creation, public outreach, digital storytelling, photo caption writing, and organizing activity notes. Familiarity with environmental studies, sustainable development, renewable energy, climate action, international education, and youth engagement is beneficial. Fluency in Chinese is desirable, while working knowledge of English is required.
