Organizational Context

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Colombia supports national and territorial efforts towards sustainable peace, inclusive governance, rule of law, social cohesion, and resilient development. Operating within the Peace, Justice, and Crisis Response Area, UNDP collaborates with various stakeholders to address conflict and inequality drivers and promote innovative development solutions. UNDP Colombia is strategically enhancing engagement with the private sector and International Financial Institutions to scale development impact and support transformative operations.

Job Purpose

The Partnerships and Innovative Finance Associate will contribute to UNDP Colombia's strategic priorities by supporting partnership development and stakeholder engagement. This role involves analyzing development trends, identifying financing gaps, and mapping private sector actors and investors relevant to peacebuilding and territorial development. The Associate will monitor emerging opportunities in private sector engagement and innovative financing, contributing to resource mobilization and strategic positioning. This assignment offers hands-on experience in partnership building, innovative financing, and development cooperation within the UNDP Country Office, fostering collaborative approaches to generate sustainable development impact.

Responsibilities

The Partnerships and Innovative Finance Associate will support the Peace, Justice, and Crisis Response Area by conducting quantitative, economic, and territorial analyses to identify development trends, financing gaps, and investment opportunities. This includes mapping and analyzing private sector actors, business associations, foundations, and impact investors relevant to peacebuilding and crisis response priorities. The Associate will monitor trends in private sector engagement, impact investment, and blended finance, contributing to knowledge products and lessons learned. Responsibilities also include supporting coordination and information exchange among UNDP teams on partnerships and resource mobilization, and performing other related tasks to advance the Area’s agenda. A work plan will be developed with the supervisor during the first month.

Work Experience

Requires 1 month of experience. Demonstrated interest or experience in partnership development, stakeholder engagement (public, private, development sectors), private sector engagement, innovative financing, impact investment, or resource mobilization is desirable. Experience with quantitative and economic analyses related to peacebuilding or sustainable development is also beneficial. Previous volunteer experience or cross-cultural experience is highly regarded.
