Organizational Context
The World Health Organization (WHO) is a UN specialized agency dedicated to achieving the highest possible level of health for all people. WHO's mission involves leadership in global health issues, setting research priorities, establishing standards, developing evidence-based policies, providing technical support, and monitoring health trends. This campaign aligns with WHO's commitment to health promotion, disease prevention, and Universal Health Coverage, contributing to SDG 3.
Job Purpose
This assignment supports the second edition of the "Vacances Santé" campaign in the Republic of Congo, building on the success of its first iteration. The campaign aims to strengthen health prevention and promote healthy behaviors among youth through digital engagement. Approximately 400 online volunteers will inform, raise awareness, and engage communities, particularly young people, on critical public health priorities. These include preventing HIV/STIs, combating early pregnancies, reducing substance abuse (tobacco, alcohol, drugs), and promoting hygiene and communicable disease prevention. The initiative seeks to enhance WHO Congo's digital health communication impact and encourage youth to become agents of change.
Responsibilities
Online volunteers will support the communication team in developing and executing a social media awareness campaign. Key responsibilities include:
1. **Content Dissemination:** Daily posting of validated campaign visuals and messages across personal and community platforms (Facebook, TikTok, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Instagram, X), adhering to the editorial calendar and posting schedules. Ensuring visuals are published in full with recommended hashtags and tags (#VacancesSanté2, #OMSCongo, @OMSCongo).
2. **Daily Performance Reporting:** Tracking publication reach (views, engagement) and reporting this data daily using the provided tracking tool. Promptly reporting any technical difficulties or publication-related queries.
3. **Communication Compliance:** Strictly adhering to the dissemination of validated content without modification of visuals, slogans, or messages. Maintaining respectful communication aligned with public health values and escalating any sensitive interactions to the coordination team.
Work Experience
Prior experience in campaign development or strategy formulation is required. Excellent communication and writing/editing skills are essential. A strong understanding of online marketing tools and channels, along with experience in designing awareness or marketing tools, is highly desirable.
